Looks like we’re a little late to the party, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have our chunk of fun. In addition to the blog we set up earlier for Don’t Date That Guy - not just one, but two more blogs emerging on our servers.
One will be in Russian (sorry, folks), and will deal with weight problems that Russian immigrants (especially of older age) are dealing with. Unfortunately, their life in former Soviet Union wasn’t as bright as our lives here and now. Science of dieting was not popular and not many people could afford to eat as healthy as we are now. So, we hope that by creating this web site we will provide valuable and necessary information for our own parents and relatives. Stay tuned, the launch is scheduled for February.
Second upcoming blog (hopefully) will launch approximately at the same time. It is targeted to a more younger crowd, people who are bored with existing places they go out to, but not sure where to go instead. Now, don’t confuse it with Zagat survey, it will look more like Events section from Village Voice then CitySearch listings. Plans are (so I heard) to include a lot of free or very inexpensive places. As it turns out not - not every 20-year old kid drives a Ferrari and makes a fortune on eBay.
Not sure if disclosing our future plans is a good idea, but it would be a nice experiment to see how things turn out. Zealus Web Design always tries to support our customers’ ideas and provide them with insights and knowledge of things they would otherwise have a hard time figuring out.

Zoundry Blog Editor (January 15, 2008): While contemplating on my ideas of blogging editor I stumbled upon various reviews of existing blogging clients. One of them caught my eye, so I ventured ahead and downloaded Zoundry - free blogging client. I am attempting to write this post in Zoundry, version 1.0.40.
Generally, I am not looking for features I came up with [...]
RSS Is Your Key To Success (January 15, 2008): Couple of months ago I did a little "research" - I asked people around to find out if they know anything about RSS. Turns out - none of my business-oriented colleagues knows that term. Even more - they have no idea what news aggregator/reader is and actually read news from all the web sites they [...]
Qumana Blog Editor (January 16, 2008): For the second round of blog editor software reviews I decided to go with Qumana Blog editor. Available at Qumana.com, this free software is available for both Windows and Mac OS platforms. Current version as of writing this post is 3.0.1. The software is written in Java. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but [...]
More fun with Alexa and stats (January 10, 2008): As any blogger I can't help but look at the stats now and then. At certain moment I realized that I don't see Alexa in list of visiting search engines. I also realized it's wrong. So I ventured in depths of my memory and just before hopelessly sinking there I remembered someone posting about Alexa [...]

Shopping could be a good experience. It also could be a disaster (just think of your budget after Christmas and New Years for a moment!). Some people make it a mystery. I am talking about companies that provides mystery shopping service.
Now, this marketing research technique is nothing new, but if you really want to get to know what is going on in the field - you have to go to the field. Some of us, business owners, simply cannot afford such a luxury. That’s where mystery shopping service comes into play.
Sounds like fun if you know how to deal with all the data.
P.S. For those who are interested in how this stuff works - there is always a chance to apply online to become a secret shopper. Not sure about the benefits package, but definitely something to think about once the retirement would feel closer.

What is it that I want (July 31, 2007): While moving tons of my ex-IT stuff from old apartment to new (and losing some ISA network cards on the way) I realized what is it that I ultimately need while most of my stuff is unavailable (like when I am moving, traveling, vacationing and so on). So think of this as of unofficial wish [...]
Someone up there loves me (August 1, 2007):
Yes, someone up there must love me, here's the HTC Advantage that is large enough to read/view/game away plus it acts as a GSM cell phone. Just the answer to my yesterday's rant. Well, at least to the first part.
The only two noticed problems are the weight/size (damn, with 5 inches of screen real estate [...]
Phones Issue (September 4, 2007): Last Saturday I switched to Cingular New AT&T. The circle is complete now. My first phone was some brick Nokia from AT&T with 200 minutes calling plan. I don't even remember what I paid (something around $30 - 40, I believe). Good thing was that the phone was virtually indestructible - it was dropped, accidentally [...]
Offline-Online Integration Continues (January 15, 2008): Whenever new task is taken to online I almost always get happier. Google Docs, Zoho, Microsoft Office Live - all good and all merry. They all have only one drawback - they don't work if you are not connected. However, with mobile networks getting more widespread and higher speeds the problem with not being connected [...]

Lack of action leads to actions lacking sense. Christmas and New Years happen to be very close, so all operations at Zealus were a bit slow. Which led us to a (not so bright idea) to reanimate an old forum that was set up for Russian community web site that never took off.
So the forum has been set up and is operational under new name - Zealus Community Forums. Registration, of course, is free, but there will be paid areas eventually. Right now there is a paid forum with expired domain names updated daily. Subscription costs $5.99 per week or $19.99 per month and readers of this blog may contact me directly for 20% discount on monthly subscription.
There will be, also, some areas for our clients’ discussion forums. They not necessarily may be in English, so don’t get scared right away.

WordPress 2.3 upgrade (October 30, 2007): Apparently upgrade to WP 2.3 is much more problematic then I thought. Even though I updated the test blog first (didn't see any signs of trouble), the upgrade of this one left me without much liked plugin Ultimate Tag Warrior. Hopefully the developer will release an update soon...
Upgrading WordPress to 2.3.3 (February 5, 2008): Looks like there is another vulnerability discovered in WordPress, that's why I have to upload all 3.1MB of files again to all the accounts I have WP installed. After backing up the account and downloading backup.
Maybe I am being too quirky, but I would just post files that need to be updated - just like [...]
Updating the blog (December 20, 2007): My sincere apologies if the blog will malfunction tonight - I am installing a plug-in to list domains I have for sale and the site might be a little unstable during this time. Please bear with me.
Samsung BlackJack Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade - Complete! (February 1, 2008): Being an owner (among other devices) of Samsung BlackJack smartphone I was postponing the free Windows Mobile 6 upgrade until a better time. Better time has come today, so I went all in - backed up the device, checked to see if I really have all the appointments in my Outlook calendar and proceeded with [...]
