GTrendEx
GTrendEx is a software that allows you to extract Google Hot Trends data into CSV or SQL form. Under Google’s Terms of Service it is illegal to sell/distribute the actual Google data without Google’ consent. As you might imagine, such a consent would cost me quite a lot of money with no guarantee to make them back. So I wrote (as an excercise in C# 2008) a little program that will extract all the historical trends starting from May 15, 2007 when Google started publishing hot trends (or any chosen date afterwards). As of right now (February 2009) GTrendEx exports either into CSV or SQL with a few options to it.
If anyone is interested in further development, feel free to donate the money via PayPal or by buying me a gift off of my Amazon Wish List. Obviously, the better the item I get, the more of your suggestions I will implement in the future revisions of the software.
How to use GTrendEx:
well, that’s easy – just start it, specify output file, dates (leave them intact for default settings from the first day hot trends become available until the present day), hit the Run button and go do something useful. Like giving me a gift
